I’ve always been interested in photographing a kinky boudoir session. When my client reached out and asked if I could do a shibari rope bondage session, I was ecstatic! For those who don’t know, shibari is a form of Japanese rope bondage. The artist (rigger) creates beautiful patterns and geometric shapes that accentuate the shape of the canvas (the person who is tied).

Safety and the comfort of my client is always my number one priority! I reached out to women in the community who I knew I could trust to be the rigger for this session. That is when I learned of an amazing sex positive resource for the people in Alberta called ASPECC. They host many educational events and seminars so I highly recommend you check them out if you would like to learn more about rope bondage.

Why did you do your boudoir session?

Because I wanted to see myself like others see me. I lost 70lbs and wanted to show myself and my hubby the confident women I have become.

What was your favourite part of the session?

The whole experience of feeling like a queen for a day.
